From our humble beginnings as a cabinetmaker’s woodshop to becoming a dominant North American supplier, Exotic Woods has earned the trust of many all over the world.

Founded in 1979 by John Arie Hordyk and his wife, Tetje, Exotic Woods provides both domestic and unique woods from around the world with honesty and expert knowledge to designers, contractors and wood enthusiasts.

Exotic Woods headquarters is located in Burlington, Ontario and houses an extensive inventory of superior hardwoods, softwoods, veneers and plywood. We also have a large wood machining facility and a spacious Flooring Showroom featuring stunning Canadian and European lines of wood flooring.

Today, Exotic Woods is operated by John’s two sons – John Jr. and Mel – and strives to be the recognized leader for supplying premium, quality, unique woods and resources to valued customers across North America.
