Origin:  Central America, Mexico and northern South America

Latin name: Enterolobium cyclocarpum

Large impressive slabs and cookies from Costa Rica. Some have had epoxy work done to fill cracks and voids.

The heartwood is light to medium brown, sometimes with a reddish hue. Darker streaks of brown are sometimes present. Sapwood is pale yellow and is clearly demarcated from the heartwood.
